![]() However, WoW has already acquired too much from Diablo as it is.īecause M+ has been terrible right? Comment by Chadrell on T03:32:06-06:00 ![]() Perhaps this guy is great at his job, and will provide something real to the WoW team. He went into great detail regarding Diablo development during an interview with Rhykker at BlizzCon 2019, and has since been rather well regarded by the Diablo community, although it's still too early to know how the game's systems will turn out. While some players have complained that StarCraft II metas became stale under Kim's direction, actual win rates were considered fairly well balanced and so it's interesting to see how his expertise will affect WoW, which has had a long history of balance perception problems. He was also regarded as a very competitive StarCraft player, cited as one of the top random players in the world. Speculation, but with the Shadowlands delay being announced around the same time as David Kim being moved over to WoW, seems as though WoW really needed the help and perhaps Kim had laid enough groundwork in D4 for others to take over for him to finish the job.ĭavid Kim left the Starcraft II team in 2017, giving a heartfelt farewell as he moved on to what was then an announced project, now revealed as Diablo IV. This strikes me as a positive sign - they did not "fire" David Kim and try to bring in an outside hire to replace him. I cover this in the video I have going live tomorrow, but his replacement seems to be Joe Piepiora, who seems to have been promoted internally from within the team.
